Levon Helm Studios–Recording studio (live and recorded), home of the Levon Helm Midnight Ramble Sessions. The Ashokan Reservoir is one of NYC’s largest according to its surface area and volume. At full capacity, the reservoir can hold 122.9 billion US gallons of water, has a 255-square-mile drainage basin, and is over 180 feet deep at its deepest point, making it the city’s deepest reservoir.

Its two long walkways provide a panorama of the Catskill Mtns and the pristine Reservoir that serves as the drinking water for NYC. Great for bicycles, walkers and wheelchairs, the two paths are beautiful stretches of wide paved paths that curve for 3 miles along the Ashokan Reservoir.

Overlook Mountain is the southernmost peak of the Catskill Escarpment in the central Catskill Mountains near Woodstock, New York. Centerpiece of the 590-acre (240 ha) Overlook Mountain Wild Forest area of Catskill Park, the mountain is the site of one of the remaining five Catskill Mountain fire towers and the Overlook Mountain House, a hotel which was built at a higher elevation than any other in the range.

Cooper Lake, located near Lake Hill in the Town of Woodstock, is the largest natural lake in the Catskill Mountains.

Off Comeau Drive, there are acres of land available for the public to picnic, peruse, photograph, or otherwise make use of the outdoors. It is a family- and dog-friendly place outside the busy sidewalks of Main Street, almost behind Woodstock, and is very quiet, calm, and lovely.

Completely surrounded by beautiful mountains with panoramic views creating a picturesque setting, Kenneth L. Wilson Campground is located in north central Ulster County, 5 miles southwest of the village of Woodstock. The campsites are secluded, large, and wooded.

Woodstock Waterfall Park – This sculpted rock ledge and pristine waterfall over which the Tannery Brook flows has been a hidden jewel for many years in the the center of Woodstock.

The Emerson Kaleidoscope – America’s Largest Kaleidoscope has been mesmerizing guests since 1996. The silo is over 56 feet tall and is a multi-media presentation that wows audiences with brilliant moving images and theater-quality sound. The overall kaleidoscope concept was designed by award winning kaleidoscope artist Charles Karadimos.

There are beautiful roads with gorgeous scenery all around here. If you don’t have a bike you can rent one in town from Overlook Mountain Bikes, where you can also pick up cycling maps with suggested routes of varying length. From professional repairs to integral sales, bike rentals, or just talking about your questions and concerns, Overlook Mountain Bikes is ready to assist you with all your cycling needs.

In the summer, the Millstream is a popular swimming location and is located right in downtown Woodstock. Big Deep is not far and a bit larger. Or you can tube down the Esopus Creek with the Town Tinker Tube Rental who has provided whitewater equipment for adrenaline seekers to experience the rapids for over 30 years.

 

The Woodstock Golf Club is a private 9-hole course located in the heart of Woodstock. The course is short but challenging. Long, deep, rough rock walls and bodies of water more than compensate for the modest length.

Zena Recreation Park is truly a special place, a fun and safe haven for families to have fantastic summers, year after year. Zena Recreation Park is a private pool and tennis club nestled in the woods of Woodstock. A quiet relaxed area within the confines of a majestic forest in the shadow of the Catskill Mountains.
